Seems like this isn't allowable but can I terminate 12 AWG MC cable into a cord body? 120/240 volt circuits.:slaphead:

No you can not. 330.40 says fittings have to be listed and identified for such use.

Not to mention that if you even tug on MC the wrong way after it's secured into a cord end like that, the jacket will pop open and expose the wires.
