That number can be used to size the circuit conductors even if the OCPD is sized larger than the conductor ampacity. So in your example you could use #1/0 which is rated for 150 amps and a 175 amp OCPD.
Probably a typo on your end and o don’t have my book but it would have to me equal or greater to the MCA so 159.4
 
Right. Wire and other circuit components must be rated for at least the MCA, and the breaker ratting must not exceed the MOP.
 
For years every time I would type "Minimum Circuit Ampacity", Microsoft kept telling me that "ampacity" was not a real word... I just noticed that they apparently finally succumbed to pressure from the electrical industry, who knew otherwise all along.

Now if only the official Scrabble dictionary would get on board (if you didn't know, ampacity is not allowed in Scrabble).
