Stay off the strip and Fremont Street, and you can really find some deals. I sleep just as well and the Hampton Inn as I would at Caeser's Palace.

One thing to avoid in Vegas: National conventions. Prices go through the roof when something big like CES comes to town.

yep... back when the millenium madness was upon us, a room at the Luxor
for three nights including new millenium years eve was more expensive than
flying to egypt, and spending new years eve in the great pyramid of cheops...
(one of those new age, woo woo tours)

however, if you do electrical for CES, that's a good reason to go to vegas.
lots, and lots, of OT.

sounds good.... i'll start a thread for a left coast deal..... looking at the
map 480 sparky threw up, it looks like the best location for us would be
las vegas...

however, for these regional deals, the smart thing would be to find out

1. who's ***really*** gonna come.
2. where they live.
3. map a location based on that, rather
than an arbitrary place like vegas...
4. a date most can make it.

however, if we did go to vegas, it would be tax deductible....

and bellagio's room service menu is second to none....:smile:

failing that, there is of course the waterfront hilton, or the hyatt resort
in huntington beach.....

and lest we forget, in these prosperous times, some financial constraints
may be imposed on those of us whose phone isn't ringing off the hook...

ok, everyone on the left coast, southwest and all, if ya want to do this
in the next 6 weeks or so, put your name and where you live on this thread,
so we can get an idea where to put this. personally, i'll roll as far as frisco.

Kinda like Hell's Kitchen, but about running the casino. Touched on about everything from housekeeping, whales, dining, shows, the addition they built..... all but security (for obvious reasons!).

when i did it, i thought i checked the box to show who voted for what,
so we could see who was in or not, but that info doesn't show....
and it doesn't seem i can fix it... maybe a mod can modify it....

another edit: it seems when you click on the poll results, it shows who voted.

Just for giggles, I'll vote no, because it truly would be past my bedtime..... Sin City is two hours behind me, so 5PM Pacific really is past my bedtime.
