This is priceless. The wife thinks I'm an idiot because I can't tell her how "that" happened.
I've had cuts that later needed a few stitches. I just wrapped myself up with whatever was at hand and finished the work day. No time to bleed, as some say. Went to the ER in the evening to get sewn up. If you wrap electrical tape sufficiently tight, it also dulls the pain, as I've found. Just enough to make it to the end of the day with no lost time. ;) I'm pretty sure that if I had Stickboy's injury, however, I'd get me to a doc PDQ.

ouch!!! that's sorta what my hand looked like about 2 yrs ago when it got caught between a ground rod and sledge hammer. except it was a round hole that went all the way through my hand. i didn't call my wife afterwards because i didn't think it was a big deal. when i showed up at home w/ a wrapped hand, she nearly killed me.

lol this is too much. a couple years back walked in the er completly filthy and told the nurse i needed a patch kit. she looked at me like id lost my mind , so i opened my hand and showed her the bone in my finger.
she nearly fainted:grin:
cant get within a hundred yards of a metal stud without springing a leak.

I gotta say, that's probably the most inconvenient spot for a stitch-worthy cut. And I thought the elbow was bad!

A couple days ago, I was racking a Hilit gun for the next shot, and pinched the middle finger on my right hand. It had little blood blister which I busted open, and have had that small open cut inside my grip for the last couple days, driving me nuts. I can imagine how annoying (and painful) that palm cut is.

I'm mostly right handed, but a few tasks a was doing yesterday were cumbersome, but we'll see how the week plays out... I'm sure my boss will be very impressed with me when he gets back from vacation...

You won't be impressed when he hands you the paycheck with half the amount due. One hand- 1/2 pay:grin:

It is amazing more of us did not expire from some kind of infection.

Worked with a Lady that stated she went home ever night and hydrogen-proxioded her hands, I didn't ask why I should have though ...

That's no joke. Most of the time when I cut myself, I have not idea when or how. I just start seeing blood on things I recently touched, and have to look myself over.

Man, that's exactly how it happens with me most of the time. Had a customer offer me a bandaid recently, I asked why and she pointed to the blood on her floor and on my leg. :)

Several references to electrical and duct tape. Why not super glue? My last back surgery, that is all they used - no stiches at all. Ask the doc, he said it was basically the same stuff you buy at the store, but with a slightly different chemical compound so it has more elasticity...

Better living through chemistry

Fine idea, but usually not readily available at the jobsite or on the truck. I worked with a fella once who's hands would chap and crack pretty badly in the winter. He used super glue to glue his cracked hands back together.

We use the plastic ones these days. Now I have another reason to avoid those porcelain ones .... ;)

I gave up on plastic.... always seems to be too loose, so I keep driving the screw and "pop" -- the plastic housing has cracked. Happened one too many times so I stick with the porcelain.

After seeing Marc's photo though, I'll stop running around with them...

How what happened? Oh,... that!

I came home Friday with blood stains. The wife is still amazed I have no idea how it happed. She was more concerned about ruining a new shirt than my hand.

edit for bad typo.s

Yesterday I showed the wife Marc's post 17 and my post 18. Just trying to show her this is normal and no big deal.

Her response:

Do you know anybody thats not an idiot? I was going to say "Yes, you dear" but see married me, so shes no genious either.

Larry I think you missunderstand, she is not insulted, she is insulting! But she sure is purdy. And as honest as the day is long. I have to go check on dinner her dinner now.

No, I got it. If you answered "no", you included her as an idiot, but if you answered "yes, you, but you married me", well, then she'd have to decide what that means.

I also got that she insulted everyone else you know, including all of us. But, I agree, purdiness and honesty are well worth putting up with the rest for.

Now go feed your queen like a good servant.
