under meter sockets in the UL white book, says for short circuit current ratings exceeding 10k the marking includes the type and rating of overcurrent protection to be used with the meter socket, has anybody ever dealt with this?

mdp,
I've never dealt with it, but, it seemes like current limiting OCPD would be required.

I don't think that would work.
I was thinking the same thing, wouldn't the fuse & type have to be listed by the manufacturer
We furnish the meter fittings up to 1200 amperes and they are normally hot sequence. Therefore, you don't get to put overcurrent protection in front of our cash register.![]()
MDP,
How about this line of thinking, as long as the Electrical system is installed correctly, the
fault should be opened before the meter socket receives extensive damage. 110.10?
I see that, but the last sentence of that section also says listed products applied in accordance with their listing shall be considered to meet the requirements of this section
