Min/Max rating on HVAC unit

I have never seen a minimum and maximum rating for the OCPD.

I've seen quite a few lately that list the min and max ocpd.

I asked an AC tech and his answer was the max is the most it will ever draw on the hottest day in hell before the unit shuts itself down from internal protection. Min is the minimum it will draw usually on start up.

I would install #10 with a 45-amp breaker and a 60-amp non fused disconnect. :smile:

.8 * 1.25 = 10 Amps

Not sure what you are asking. The compressor and fan motor overloads are internal parts of the motors.

The Minimum supply circuit amps is 27. With that given I would install #10 condutors. The Max breaker size is 45 amps, so I would install a 45 amp breaker.

All the math is already done by the manufacture.
