Your pushing this way out proportion. If this house was gutted i am sure the op would have ran a dedicated circuit.
So, if it's all wide open and easy, a dedicated circuit, or, bringing the electrical up to the current code is called for, but, if a bathroom is gutted, but the route back to the panel is a PITA, then it's not a new outlet just a relocation...
Just to understand your position on this, suppose the OP also added a Heat Vent Light and NEEDED another 20a circuit... and a new circuit is pulled, but the original outlet circuit was reused for the new GFCI location, still OK or is it now a violation?
