Just curious, but if you said you are pulling 14 Amps on 120V, right? so that means you are pulling 1680 Watts....
Radio Ra dimmers are not rated for this high of watts.
could this be part of the problem?

Could some of the problem be that Radio RA dimmers are only rated at 600 and 1000W?
by my calcs you are at about 1680W...
