The NEC refers you to NFPA 780 for information on Lightning Protection Systems....since the systems are NOT required to be installed anywhere, must they be inspected?
I would say yes. For example, optional standby systems aren't required, TVSS isn't required, surge protection isn't required, etc... Even though it is not required it still must comply, and therefore must be inspected.
With the mention of the term ?air terminal? in these articles I would be lead to believe that they would need to be inspected

That's the answer I expected being both an installer and inspector, but was just looking for a loophole so I wouldn't have to deal with "conflict of interest" issues dealing with the city I work for. May have to go plead my case to the Mayor/Board.
