The extra electrode is fine. The EGC ties it to the building GES.

Key points are unswitched neutral in transfer switch and note 9 on the drawing.

No supply side bonding jumper at genny.

Separate EGC and neutral from genny to transfer switch.

Not sure why someone would think that an extra ground rod or two would be a big improvement of the existing building GES.

Beats me, until I joined here I didn’t know that rods were being speced for pole lights now days.

Installed plenty of site lighting; never put one in, never been asked, never noticed if any others had them.

In your sketch their is no ground electrode but in mine their is. I am reading this correct extra electrode on the generator in pdf is ok as long as neutral and ground are not tied together at the generator?

Yes. Code allows the extra ground rod, it is called an auxiliary. 250.54.

Yes, not tied at genny is important.

That connection is called the system bonding jumper, it occurs elsewhere for a non SDS set up.

In the picture/ graphic I posted, it is in the service disconnecting means.

Yes and the auxiliary rod gets connected to the generator frame/EGC bus not the neutral.
