As for changing out the live switches. I was 18 and a apprentice
working for a man that had no regard for my safety or anyone else
on the crew for that matter. BTW he died from falling from a ladder
after getting hit working on an energized pole light three years after I
left the company.

I can't say I'm surprised to hear that he died in that manner. It sounds like he had no regard for the danger of working live, and unfortunately he paid the ultimate price for it.

I don't show a total disregard for safety. I make decisions based on the situation.

Call it what you want, your posts here have proven that you will put aside whatever rule is in your way.

That is a fact based on your posts here at this forum ........ unless you have been lying to us.

This morning, I went out and moved my truck to another space to make room for a delivery truck.

I didn't wear my seat belt.

I cast aside the rules with a total disregard for safety and in doing so I taught my employees, my children and grandchildren that anarchy is the only thing to believe in.

You are the only thing between the end of the world and salvation. I must be stopped. Don't give up the fight. The future of the world depends on it :)

reminds me of a story,A guy driving with his buddy blows through a red light his buddy says "man you just blew that red light" the driver says " no problem my brother dxoes it all the time" as the blow the next red light the passenger tells his buddy "man you just blew another red light" the driver says "no problem my brother does it all the time " as they aproach the next light it turns green the driver slams on the breaks and comes to a screeching halt the passenger says" man you just blew two red lights why did you just stop so fast when this light was green?'" the driver looks over and says " My brother might be coming the other way"

I'm glad my grandkids didn't see that.

Don't give up the fight.

Not likely, just as you get to post your view about live work I get to post mine.

I must say you have been a pretty good sport.

The future of the world depends on it :)

Now honestly, there are a lot of things the future of the world depends on but this is not one of them. :D

However every year electricians die on the job and in almost all cases those deaths where neither heroic or necessary.

I always want to learn details in electrocution or any other construction related deaths so I can learn/teach.

Years ago, my instructor told us that he got hung up fishing a piece of wired flex thru a cabinet. The tape came off the hot wire and he grabbed it tightly along with the grounded flex. His helper pulled him off.

A guy I worked for was using a metal cased corded drill on an extension cord with reversed polarity and no ground. He was on a ladder above the grid and had to intentionall fall off to get free. Again, he had a tight grip on the drill body and when your muscles contract, you cant let go.

Personally, I am more afraid of arc flash/explosion than electrocution. I have seen a lot of blown up panels.
