I did. You say you asked for specs. Big deal. A missing disposal should have made you inquire.

Uh I did inquire.

Should I have beaten them untill they told me there would be a disposal?

Next time I'll tickle them till they spill the beans...

It is, or Scott just loves overkill. ;)

He hasn't admitted to pulling 10s yet.....

No it wasn't a typo. Now you have me nervous. Did I do someting bad?

No, Sorry, I frankly lack experience on thinking about additional kitchen usuage of services in this manner, as stated by another answer in the thread well presented as posted, quite an answer in itself ... I frankly didn't go there...

Underlying the whole deal and I've seen other posts, are we just scared of Sheet Rock, Is that the real question here?

Sounds to me like you had the impression there would be no disposal. If you did ask them like you said. If so, it's certainly not your fault then, I mean what are you supposed to do? Like the old saying, there are some people you just can't save from themselves. If I had asked in the beginning like you did, and they said no disposal, I'd have done the same thing you did.
Of course they probably won't remember saying it. Even so, I'd charge em.

Frankly, MO, (And I've read enough here) (( not that it qualifies me)) its no different than any other device that the owner missed in the design of their house, A fan, A three conductor circuit for the Fan, Dimmers on the back lite wall, or Spot Lights in the (missed) "Exact" place.
Come on its endless....

Except in areas with septic systems. Generally it's assumed that a disposal is not getting installed around here, although usually a circuit is provided for it anyway.

I live in Florida and have always had septic and well and DW and a pig. If working right there will be no problem. Actually usually have 2 pigs , one is a dog and that consumes 90%.

Only thing i see he did wrong is not to question the lack of the disposal. Never keep from asking about normal stuff. I understand trying to save money but cover your a--. I understand you thought you had but look at where your at now.

You never can be overkill in a kitchen. We entertain every other saturday night for anywhere from 35 to 70 people.,and that means 3 crock pots, mr coffee ,etc. Really wish now that i had dedicated each duplex. Any new stuff i add i either run emt or at min 12-3. That extra circuit cost very little on a rough.
