Hello, I will be installing a 48 amp 1 phase Gen 3 ev charger on the side of a single family house.
I getting set to install a 60 amp GFCI circuit for it and and 60 amp wp pull out disconnect.

Reading around now I'm seeing from the manufacturer a GFCI and Disconnect are NOT recommended.

I know I had some question installing one in a garage a couple years ago and installed it Not GFCI protected because it wasn't a receptacle and was 60 amp not 50 amp, and did not install a disconnect.

Does the code require me to GFCI protect it and install a disconnect, like lets say a outdoor AC unit, when installing this charger outside?

Thank you.

If you look at the rules in 210.8 and in 625, you'll find that a 60A EVSE must be hardwired, does not require GFCI, and does not require a disconnect. No difference in the requirements for indoor/outdoor.

Cheers, Wayne

Thank you.

Wondering...
What's going on? No one in my area has 60 amp 2 pole Cutler Hammer Tan breakers?
How could this be?
