Outdoor "under cabinet" lights

Hello,

I need to install down lights on a soffit. The soffit is very shallow and 3.5" wide. That won't allow a recessed light so I'm looking for low profile surface mount lights suitable for a damp location.

Any thoughts?

Line voltage only. Otherwise I'd have to run the LV wire through a wall to the power source and I believe that's a no-no.

I'd bet you have several LED options out there. LV wire run through wall depends on some specifics of what you select, some will work some will not.

I saw these at the supply house yesterday. They fit in a 4" round box and are rated for damp locations.

That might not be the exact model, but Sylvania makes them.

Surface mounted, little less than 1.5" deep (off the ceiling).
They fit recessed cans or round boxes.

I had thought of those, but OP says his surface is only 3.5 inches wide so they are too big, unless they come in some smaller version - which would not work with the typical 4 inch outlet box.

All of the 7-11's here retrofitted their exterior lights with a single tube LED fixture. I don't know the brand, but I'm sure it would work.
