Soundcon Jim,
Thanks for the compliment. ;) , I guess.
My brain is a bit slow and I just remembered the Re-Loc system. That uses MC cable and a type of proprietary plug/recept. combination.
If it's good enough for Home Depot, then it should be good enough for your fancy pants conference room.
Hate to point this out to designers: but nobody ever glances at the ceiling anyways.

The receptacle is not concealed by a wall, ceiling or the floor. It is concealed by a box/housing. Typically, cords should be accessible in order to examine for defect. When maintaining a hot tub, hydro-massage tub, etc, the cord is visible to the motor even though the motor may be behind a panel which is behind the wall. Would you allow a tub motor cord(behind access panel)to feed through a nipple through the wall into a metal compartment on the other side with a box and receptacle within a metal compartment that is not visible to the motor? Of course not. That is what we have here. Technically it is not behind or above a ceiling, but it would be if the compartment was not installed. The bottom line is the cord and plug is concealed by the compartment in the ceiling. The plug and cord is not visible to the projector and that makes it a violation. A recess compartment would be a great idea here.
