Thought I read that the USA gave this country who pay no income tax close to a billon dollars to upgrade the.power & phone systems. Give them flashlighs. 97% of the Tylenol used to be made there and still might be. Our goverment gives that country & billon dollar J&J tax breaks to have manufacturing plants that should be here in USA by tax paying workers.

They have had five years since the hurricane damaged much of their electrical infrastructure but seem to have done little to date other than apply some bandaids.
The cost of electricity in PR already is about double what it is in the rest of the US (except maybe CA). Not surprising given that PR has no natural resources to speak of such as coal or natural gas with which to run generating stations so everything has to be brought in on ships.
The 2020 PR referendum on the matter says otherwise:
It would be interesting if they did, the ones that voted for it, were the ones that figure they didn’t make enough to be required to pay taxes, while the ones that voted against knew they would be paying taxes. That’s how it works here in the states right now.
