Yes you can as I have done in the past. Now I just try to use 90''s , 45's, and LB's. I'm just a small company and don''t have use of heat tanks. I use anything according to the NEC and looks neat. Good Luck and Semper Fi P.S. If you use the heat gun be careful and not leave it in one spot to long as you probably know.

they sell these springs you put inside your pvc and you use your pipe bender to make bends just like you would for emt, gal or imc. i have 1/2" - 1" and works pretty good. i used it for schedule 40. schedule 80 i can't speak for.

If your going to be doing alot of bends, do yourself a favor and buy a Hot Box...
goes for $389. They also make COLD PVC benders, but I couldn't find the link at this moment...

The spring that "Puckman" is talking about is called the "Pipe Viper." It is pretty slick. It works and it is not as expensive as a hot box.

I have the 1/2" and 3/4". The 3/4" does NOT fit 3/4"Sch 80.
Sch. 40 works great for small bends close to the end of the conduit.

If you go with a heat gun lay your conduit in a small piece of metal stud. It heats faster and more evenly.

The main thing I don't like about the Viper is that the bends tend to have a smaller radius than factory or field bends, and that can make fish-taping and pulling tougher.

I really hated the cold bending spring on 1". Too much spring back. Went and got a hotbox.

you can use the heat blanket it works very good. heat up your pvc, shape it with your pipe bender , get the bend you want and use a wet rag to cool it off. this method works best on flat surface like a table.
