I'm not sure. :-? I want to replace it with an FPE or Zinsco anyway, so it's not long for this world.

I've got a couple of boxes of 1/2" Challenger's in the garage somewhere, if you want to see who goes first!

I would be quite embarrassed to call squared d and tell them there breakers are not waterproof:-?

not me, can see a potential design flaw. Square d isn't servicing these mains when they go out I am, I guess I shouldn't tell them, job security

Zinsco became Sylvania, which became Challenger when GTE sold them, so does it matter?

BTW, Zinsco/Sylvania used FPE breakers when they were over 225A or 240V.
