The internet certainly extends data from outside wiring and computers are certainly terminal equipment.
But normally does so through some transition equipment and you have two networks, your premises network and the off premises network.
And that same situation occurs with an analog phone PBX and premises wiring from it. Normally that is also CAT 5 or 6 these days. So does that phone wiring come under 725? Are there any different requirements from Art 800 if it did? Are there any electrical differences between a CAT6 cable carrying data and one carrying voice such that one needs to be treated differently than the other?
This whole thing is just plain silly!
