Recessed can LT Clearance from fire sprinkler?

Hi guys I have a question, Are there any clearance requirements for recessed can housing from fire sprinkler?
The most I can get 7 1/2"....... yikes

I do not think so. Look at NFPA 13, there is a chart for lights and sprinklers.

IIRC, it is surface mounted equipment that is shown.

That chart is for equipment that might interfere with the sprinkler spray pattern. Shouldn't be an issues for a recessed light.

Is this a commercial location with black iron pipe, or residential with CPVC?

Commercial, Homeless shelter..... Basically motel rooms, But the sprinklers are ran in CPVC

From what I can gather, so long as there is no obstruction to the flow of the water from the head, there is no restriction on distance to equipment or devices from other trades.

I'd presume so long as the trims of the head and recessed light dont interfere with each other that the install is ok. I cant find anything in NFPA 13.
