Same here. I ditched Lightolier in favor of Elite for $$ reasons.

Where is a good place to buy these?

Rexel is where I buy pretty much all of my supplies, including Elite recessed lights.

Wouldn't that heat the trim up to a less than desirable temperature?

Not with the CFL reflectors I usually put in them.

I have been using Juno for the past five years and like them just fine. Just never cared for Halo much, no real "good" reason, just personal preference.

I don't use Halo because of the quality, I use them because of the price, and the wiring dept wires up twice as fast as others, because of wagos and NM clamps that allow you to slide the wire into the junction box AFTER you hook it up to the light. No other light wires as fast

Elco. that is what the supply house I frequent carries. I have no complaints. It seams like the white Halo trims that i see in houses are always discolored.

Elco also has some recess lights that are pretty shallow. I just trimmed out 50 of the same day before yesterday. Halo shallow fixtures would not have fit in that ceiling.

Elco 6" shallow remodel cans with an angled trim are great for sloped ceilings where full size cans won't fit. You need to use a par 30.
The other great shallow can i have used is a 3" low voltage that fits just about anywhere. Elco is the best made in China can light.

lightolier most all the time - they make a good sloped ceiling new work housing as well.

Halo sometimes (if trying to save a few bucks or if builder is being cheap) .

Haven't seen the Elite brand in eastern mass.

I hate the HD and Lowes brands - never use them
