another thing to add to my earlier post..i only do that if i have to come up in a place where it might get bumped. like on the wall or something like that. if i go up inside of a piece of switchgear or large panel thats close to the ground i dont bother doing that just if i have too

Guess I was beaten to the punch!!!

I know a lot of electricians who have never had a chance to work with it or even seen Rob Roy before, thanks for providing the link

Thanks for the definition and the link to "Plasti-Bond Red Hot" coatings.

There have been things that I've read about in these forums
which I will never encounter on the job. Good Forums!

By the same token, there are things that I have worked with
which 'electricians' will never encounter. The world is bigger than life!

Thanks for the definition.

In Arizona we use 20 mil tape on all rmc in the ground and up to when it passes grade or

slab.

note: This is the tape you have been talking about, it is equivilent to other spec. coatings.

The biggest reason I would suggest the rob roy over anything else - In my part of PA I've seen rigid rot out in plain dirt, concrete, and under a building slab which should typically be dry. So if I can't run PVC that is what I push for. Not saying I always win the argument though.
