Romex Above the Third Floor

Hi Mike
Every body talk about Romex can’t be use above a third floor in any building, but I don’t find anything like that on the NEC, I ask AI and said that is an old rule already removed. Would you please clarify that for me.

Yes this 3 floors limit was removed from the NEC many code cycles ago in the 2002 NEC.

As Infinity said, it was removed many cycles back but it came with trade offs. Read 334.10 and 334.12
