Central VAC cable is typically only rated for 24V. It indeed is two conductors (no ground) only but usually fairly small gauge (I've never seen more than 16g). They also make similar cables for installation of low voltage lighting.

Can you use tray cable for your application?
We've bought 14 gauge for low voltage lighting. I bet someone makes a 12 similar.

Here's some class 2 cable that's sold as speaker cable. In-wall rated
