Um... NO!

Weird...of all people you portray yourself as someone who would do just about anything to earn money. After all, if you will work into a rodent infested dive with Vapo-rub under your nose to do electrical work, why not pressure wash a deck? (assuming the $$ is right of course)

Shoot! I'd be more than happy to pressure-wash decks all day long at $80/hour!:D

Me too. Heck, I wouldn't care if I ever did electrical work again.

OK, mods. We need a new forum category!

"Doing Side Work Other Than Electrical"

I've been looking for a "Deck Washing Forum" for the last hour. :D

It would really be funny if he also offered Lawn Care in the summer months. Just picture the van going down the road with ladders on top, Romex hanging near the windows and then an open trailer with a Wright Stander mower and some "weed wackers" on the back.

What would a customer think when the truck pulls up? :) :) :)

They'd think, "That must be one of them there Pennsylvania electricians".

My truck is 4x4 and I have given some thought to getting a plow for it. Good extra cash. Although I guess the plow guys might get mad at me for stealing their work..... :D

DURN DIYer

I think a better name would be "Stealing xxxxxxx's work"
If his is legal by his local laws IMO you can't steal work.

When I travel I almost always take the back roads, just nicer places to see and take pictures of. I have seen.

Jimmy's Electric, Plumbing, AC and Small Appliance Repair - (which is not usual)
Bernies Garage and DISCO - (Different but a good use of space, I mean who doesn't want to dance in a grease pit.)
Ahmeds Typewriter Repair and Spice Shop. -(What can I say, God Bless America)

So he does snow-plowing as well. How is that stealing? Many landscapers do snow removal as well. If a snow-removal company decided to do landscaping during the summer, are they automatically considered hack landscapers? Tow truck operators also do recoveries, a fancy term for reposessioning unpaid vehicles.

I know several owners of ECs who also have other business interests. One is in to building strip malls and office buildings. Is he stealing from others because he has diversified? An old emploer of mine has an untold number of rental homes. Many ECs also advertise other building trades as well.... plumbing & heating/cooling are the most common. If they're licensed, etc, what makes them thieves?
