I order one of these the other day and it arrived today. I'm quite surprised at its weight, 7lbs, and construction. I think it will help in driving ground rods. Here are a few photos.

I received a phone call today as well from Sluggo-Ox and since I was their first sale in Kentucky they are going to send me FREE t-shirt.

After I get a chance to use it I will report back.

Hilti makes a ground rod driver that fits in the larger tools (TE 72 etc..) It will run you about $35-$40 bucks but it will keep the top of the rod neat and clean. It is also alot easier to drive rods with the Hilti than with a sledge and you won't damage the chuck....

Somebody needs to make a powder actuated ground rod installer.

yes, and you could call it the jetpack, because you'll be flying after you pull the trigger. :D

This is what we use. ;)

I might have to retract my statement. Click on the video, and watch her put in a rod. She might be able to whip me if push came to shove.

There are places in Arizona where NOTHING will pound in a ground rod.

Thats when you need the new " Macmikeman's Pretendarod" device. Its 3" of a rod welded to some 24" rebars set in a small cage pattern and covered with stucco, painted to look just like a real rock you drove that rod into. On sale now wherever better toys are sold. ;)
