What your not getting is, we don't have to splice at finish, there's nothing to splice.

Switched outlets; 1 red on screw, 1 red in the back; 1 black on the screw 1 in the back; 2 nuetrals in the back. SP switch H in on the screw H out in the back, switch line in the back. The only splicing you have is the grounds and the nuetrals in a sw box, which I always do on the rough.

Would far rather splice on rough while i remember what i did and if i lost my mark can still follow the wire.Generally i will run a room ,then splice and nail plate.Have seen companies that pigtail every thing on rough so only one blk one white.Then we don't have this ,i didn't see the other wire or wires.Now that will slow you down.And waste wire nuts.

I am with speedy on this we make all connections possible on rough, this way a monkey can put in devices if that is all we have.

No duplex would get more than 3 conductors unless it is a switched one, which would get 4 conductors.

We often have multi gang switch boxes with different circuits, 3 ways 4 ways, I do not want people having to guess what is going on with these when devicing.

I once did a job where another electrician roughed in the house, got paid and skipped back to Florida. This guy didnt strip any of the romex, so it took a lot longer to install devices. After a while we figured out his marking code: he crimped the ends of the romex one or more times to designate feeds or switch legs.

I dont know how it passed the rough inspection, probably wouldnt today.
