Steel LB Surrounded By PVC Conduit

another brilliant code technicality I presume. what really is the point of bonding if there is no break in the conductor.
I'm all about rules but ...really some inspector could call someone on that.
Tom Baker's solution is the way to go.
Don is correct, you have to bond the LB because if one of the hot conductors insulation gets damaged and touches the metal of the LB, there will not be a return path to ground and the LB will remain energized waiting for any unlucky person to touch it and complete the path to ground.

Does anyone thread rigid PVC conduit? I've seen plumbing PVC nipples with threads, but not electrical. But don't think the threading machine would care if you feed it a stick of PVC or steel pipe. Seems like this would eliminate any technical issues of PVC going into a threaded box or conduit body. Doesn't really seem much different than using a threaded male adapter in the end, and the adapters are much quicker than field threading.

That raises the question of whether threading would be an "approved method".

352.48 Joints. All joints between lengths of conduit, and between conduit and couplings, fittings, and boxes, shall be made by an approved method.

For plumbing PVC, threaded nipples are typically Schedule 80.
