Struggling with coworkers

I started a job once and learned it well in short time. The boss moved my up past some that had been there a long time. It was obvious they were just looking for a paycheck and didn't care to learn anything past what they were doing at the time.
I left a plastic coffee/travel mug sitting on the dock once and didn't remember it until the next day. I went to where it was and found it smashed flat. I saw one guy, that I knew didn't like me, and took offense that I moved past him, laughing when I picked up the cup.

I was pretty sure he was the one that smashed it but I didn't say anything. Later, someone told me that the guy was the one that done it. So the next day I brought another cup and set it down right in front of the guy and said "here you go"!. He asked me what I meant. I told him he enjoyed smashing the other cup so much, that I brought him another to smash.
His face turned red and he walked off. Never had any more trouble out of him.

I never once talked down to anyone, or tried to show them up, I just did my job. I will say that I didn't enjoy working there, but I stayed until I found another job. They tried to get me to stay but I didn't want to, and glad I didn't!

One funny thing happened a few years later. On the job that I moved to we had a need for some temp help. The temp agency sent a couple of guys. One of them happened to be the one that smashed my cup. They put him with me, and I may, or may not, have given him the dirtiest job!
I guess karma visited the guy!;)
