I did not think it was unrelated. There are many that think that is acceptable practice. The more they are reminded that it is not, the more likely it will sink in someday.

Thank you for the needed insight to inform some that may think otherwise. My comment was intended as a safety reminder and no joke as it may have come across. Many non participants read this forum and take comments seriously to better their understanding of differences between a supplemental electrode to an auxiliary electrode.

More often do I come across a hot tub or pond pump motor wired for 240v on a 2 wire circuit with the bare connection used for a neutral and an auxiliary electrode grounding the motor. Very common hazard to say the least.
