Is there a NEC or regulation code for a pvc y-intercept to a piece of emt conduit for telco for outdoor exposure?
Customer wants me to install a y-intercept on an existing piece of emt to redirect a new fiber run. The existing pipe has an existing fiber run, in it. They want me to drill and cut the emt and install a pvc wye split pipe on it. I want to know if the NEC allows this or if there is a code against it. I like quality work and would prefer a j-box but I cannot disconnect and pull back the existing fiber.Welcome to the forum.
Can you give us a better idea of what you're looking for?
I wouldn't want to have my name attached to what was done in that picture. Is there any way to install a new pipe all the way?
