Re: Temporary Service
I have read and addressed all three of the sections to which you reference and now ask that you address 408.36 of the 2005 or 408.16 of the 2002 cycles of the NEC.
I am very open to any explanation that you can give as to why this would not apply to the original post.

Below is the original post that started this thread. It is clear by the wording ?Below the meter pan is a 4 circuit weatherproof panel with 2 20 amp breakers that feed 2 gfi receptacles below the panel? that this is a lighting and appliance panel board that will require no more than two mains.Originally posted by RUWired:
Yes, I will agree that a panelboard used as service equipment using the 6-hand rule can only be a powerpanel and not be a L&A panel. These previous situations mentioned earlier were in fact powerpanels.

You keep making reference to 230.71 and the six disconnect rule which has no bearing on this installation. Then you referenced 230.90 exception three and also note 2 found in the tables of 450.3 which have nothing to do with this installation.Originally posted by NYEIS
My question relates to a temporary service on a pole. Below the meter pan is a 4 circuit weatherproof panel with 2 20 amp breakers that feed 2 gfi receptacles below the panel. My question is, "does the panel require a a main disconnect, or do the 2 breakers fulfill the requirement? I seem to think that there should be a main disconnect, and then the branch circuit breakers, my boss says because there are less than 6 breakers, no main is needed.. What is the answer? TY,
