My daughter just bought a condo in Scottsdale and wants to add a Tesla gen 2 charger which draws up to 48 amps. She sent me a picture of her panel and there is plenty of connected load already. Do I dare add a 2-pole 60 amp breaker to this? She's checking but from what I gather there's no main breaker at the panel and I'm pretty sure it's a 100 amp service. Where she lives that AC rarely takes a rest... nervous. If nothing else I could give her a dedicated 20amp receptacle and put it on a GFCI breaker, not ideal but it's an option.

You’re probably ok, as long as she does her laundry and cooking during the day, and just charge the car at night. The A/C is probably no more than 20-21 amps. Looks to be a heat pump since they have a 20 amp dp for the air handler, so probably not very big heat strips for the emergency heat.

Thanks,
She just got back to me and the main breaker is located outside by the meter and is rated for 125 amps so I think this will be ok to add the Tesla wall charger. For the record I just watched a couple DIY installs of this charger on Youtube ... glad I'm not their neighbor.
