120 will kill you just as dead.
What do you think? Is 277 okay to play with????
120 will kill you just as dead.
OH well the cow got electrocuted but he signed all these certifications that he knew better. Not my problem. Get it????
Maintenance guys don't always have thee option of not working it live. I had more to day, but post #2 and #27 stole my words.
My main point in this thread is there is absolutely no reason why this work has to be done live. None whatsoever. Is changing a few lamps and ballasts live at a Home Depot really worth dying over? I know we all have to die sometime, but still....
Furthermore the company doing the work is a well known company around here that should certainly know better.
Seems you care more about this strangers' life than he does.....
ok.... let's see... override the timer, walk the lot, tag the dead ones,
shut everything off..... 30 minutes for one guy?
At this point I change the lamps in the marked poles, hit the override again, walk the lot, tag the ones the are still dead for ballast replacement.
VERY IMPORTANT: I found an energy management 2-pole remote control breaker in a parking lot lighting control panel that was defective and only opened one leg when the override was pushed. One leg of the 480 was still on but the light was be off and lulled me in to false sense of security. Do not assume the maintenance override will protect you from shock.
We relamp parking lights energized all the time.
In my opinion it is not necessary. I would want the power to be off if I were working on these lights. So do a lot of other electricians apparently. My next question - is it necessary?
That is just sad....
The electrician that doesnt respect electricity, never gets to become an old electrician.
