Going to make everyone mad, but, just got my permit for a transfer switch and generator hookup, dropped off application and one day later had the permit electronic version (pdf) in hand. I was shocked so quick hearing of the delays getting permits everywhere.

but has anyone else run into this type of abuse ?

I notice it more and more as I grow older, remember most people in charge these days are straight out of school and probably aren't old enough to purchase a 6 pack if they wanted. I especially am annoyed by the Jr inspectors that have 2 years under their belt. Fortunately I usually find the note of exception rule they never knew existed.
