What do the instructions with the towel bar indicate?

I've never seen a resi one that didn't plug in, so I'm not sure how you're going to compliantly get a receptacle in a shower.

Weird, I've never done one that came with a cord. and i''ve done more than a dozen of them. they were all non US made, and came with a utility box cover.

Then no GFI protection would be needed.

i've installed hard-wired towel warmers; they were all listed for damp locations, but not wet locations. directions also specified gfci protection.

Wouldn't the towels stay wet if they were inside of the tub enclosure? I guess I am having a visual issue here. Electricity, No GFCI protection and inside of a Tub enclosure, Hummmmmmmm I am having a real issue with this. I would read the manufactors instructions and warning and installion instructions, If it is not UL or third party tested, I wouldn't recommend it.:-?

i've had customers request it in those large open built-in showers. but again, all the ones i've done say 'damp location' and not 'wet location', so i wouldn't install it within the footprint of the shower.
