It is not LC.
For example 1 mfd and 1 henry is about 160 Hz. There is nothing anywhere close to 1 mfd. Any capacitance is probably in the range of 0.0001 to 0.001 mfd. And I am seeing time periods in the 1 second range, actually longer, and not in the 1/100 second range.
It is simply a magnetic core effect. Have you ever made a counter using a square loop material and current pulses? In some ways a similar effect.
