UF (underground feeder cable) 12/4 ?

I just saw this thread and I'm scratching my head.

So, the OP thinks he needs 12/2/2 UF. Nowhere does he say directly, but I assume he needs one circuit for the 120V mini-split and another for the 20A service receptacle. Then there's debate over using NM.

Why doesn't he just do two runs of 12/2 UF?? One to the disconnect and the other to the receptacle? He doesn't even need a two pole breaker.

He said that in this case it is a dry location so NM is permitted and UF would not be required.

Oh I see now he's saying after the NM exits the vapor barrier before it enters the disconnect is a wet location, I would suggest a sleeve but then the interior of a conduit is a wet location, that is definitely not enforced here;

The wire connection from the romex is connecting in a wet location (outside in disconnect box) so the romex cannot do that. Is this enforced differently in your area?

Oh no that is definitely not enforced here.
I have been dinged when I ran some NM on a open carport to some lights, inspector said thats a damp location, but 1/4" of NM between the siding and a disco that is a stretch.
Use ample sealant and the NM is not in the wet location.

I have seen NM Buried in the ground with no apparent ill effects. Not that I think it is right. It's not.
