UL listing does not mean code compliance?

Correct UL has reps on many panels as do many stakeholders in the electrical industry. IBEW, IAEI,IEC,IEEE also have reps on code panels.

Stakeholders indeed Raider. One needs to realize big manufacturers solicit ex-members of these org's as their CPM advocates quicker than ex Congressmen become lobbyists.

That is correct due to the Standard being withdrawn due to lack of concensus.

I'd say there's more to the story than that

In fact i've personally confronted nema men about it

Okay, the world ain’t perfect. Surprise, surprise.

Ya gotta question about UL and it’s processes?

This is not going to turn into a AFCI bashing thread.

I am really liking the chance to learn more about UL properly and demystifying the whole listing thing.

Lemme ask a question that may answer yours and be useful to me and others.

Does UL has a process similar to NFPA where we can view potential proposals and the outcomes of the committee actions?

Basically similar to ROPs, ROCs, and such.

I am off until Tuesday but I will get more information on the Standards process for you then.
