Does the 3 foot distance from windows apply to an underground serviced meter base? Is that up to the utility company? Thank you.
I can't post the section but the 3' rule is in the NEC it only applies to open conductors, not cables, conduits or enclosures.

I know that rule pertained to overhead serviced meters, etc., but when I read the underground meter requirements on my POCO website, it said the meter is "recommended to be 3 feet from windows and doors". I wanted to get your opinions. I did call Duke E today and they told me I am ok to mount it closer than 3 feet to windowCigars are bad for your lungs anyway
