The only problem is that it can be tricky getting the shavings off the magnet.
So, turn a baggie inside-out and put the magnet inside it. When you're done, flip it rightside-out, so the shavings are now inside it. Zip it shut and throw it away.

What can you do when you dang near poke your eye out while putting on your safety glasses.:D Or when you jab your screwdriver all the way up your nose while attempting to take your said glasses off, man that hurt.:D

.....After extensive research, there is only one product that will serve your needs:

Is that considered PPE? What's the calorie rating?:D

Dude get a helmet!

Prescription tinted Z87 lenses AND a built-in walkie-talkie!
Cutting edge technology.

This one really lets people know your all business:

It may even meet the 110.26 30" requirement.

Of course it's a PPE....maybe not the right PPE for the task ~ but PPE just the same.
When you've got a wicked bad golden helmet, you don't need to care about calories.:D

Why turn a simple annoyance (tiny second degree nostril burns) into a potential fire hazard (possible ignition of a flammable substance consisting primarily of refined petrochemicals)?

My gawd man, think of the children!

That's why I use a paper bag.

I always put cotton in my nose when I'm laying down looking up at my unibit at work.
One time the cotton caught fire, now I always wet it first.
Just thought I'd share.

I'm very sorry, but the only picture I get in my head when I think about this, is me laying on the ground crying from laughing so hard.:grin:

Another good method:

Place a towel over your entire face. Wet it so that it doesn't burn. Now lay back and put your head in a tub of water so that your hair doesn't catch on fire either.

Repeat.

I'm so glad to hear that there was another electrician close by to provide you with comfort and solace. All the electricians I've ever worked with were remarkably sensitive guys who would never even think of laughing thier a..es off for days over an unfortunate nose accident like this. I myself would be so concerned that I would probably inquire as to the health of your nose for years.:D

Thank you so much for your concern. The blister has since healed and most of the hair is starting go grow back now, albeit somewhat curlier. We got one of the laborers to sweep up the shavings in the unlikely event that some wayward bound barefoot youngster may manage to jimmy the lock to the electrical room and step on a shaving or two whilst doing whatever barefoot wayward bound youngsters do after jimmying said locks to electrical rooms.

Since the unfortunate event, hindsight being 20/20 as it is, I will always wear adequate nostril PPE, such as a clothespin or a pair of custom tailored rubber stoppers, UL approved, of course, before attempting such a hazardous endeavor such as I have recanted to the peanut gallery here.

My thanks and respect to all that have offered support and comfort to my most unfortunate mistake in a gentlemanly, respectful manner. You guys are the greatest.

You were man enough to post what you did, and your post was genuine. I'll give that two thumbs up right there. Nicely done K8, live and learn:wink:
