Any of you guys ever been involved with having to give unit prices to GC once you get the job for conduit, wire etc. in the case of change orders?

I'm always concerned as it's tricky because your never sure if it'll be used as an add or delete. If you give them a chunky unit price that's higher than what was carried in the estimate and there is a delete your screwed.

I have made a statement that unit prices are for informational purposes only, may not reflect all conditions, and shall not be used for change orders. I have never had an issue with this. I could tell you 100 ways to argue the justification for this, a couple that you mentioned. firs, I don't give back profit and I guarantee my price to perform the work in the contract barring acts of God, not for additional work after contract is signed.
