Wired A new ups today . The manual called for A shut tip breaker . What application would need A shut trip? Also called for a grounding electrode conductor , why would I need this if I puled and equipment grd.?
The existence of a transformer is not the issue. The output of some UPS equipment is SDS and requires a grounding electrode.Brian, I think I got you . GEC would be required if ups was feed directly off of trans. as sds.
90 amp Shunt trip breaker was required in the manual . For the feeder to ups. I installed non st cb, didnt see the need
In my opinion you have no choice, you must install the shunt trip breaker and connect it as the instructions show.
