Utility Voltage Tolerance

Any know if there is a standard for utility companies to provide a minimum and maximum voltage range?

More then likley your power company is held to ANSI C84.1

I believe that tolerance is set by your states public service commission. In Illinois the Illinois Commerce Commission has set the voltage range at 113 to 127 for a nominal 120 volt system and plus or minus 10% for all other voltage systems.

I must use this opportunity to point out that everyone should pay close attention to the order in which the voltages are stated within the standard; as this has been a contested (testy) issue for some.:grin:

The ANSI C84.1 tables are in the IEEE Red Book Std 141.

In Indiana, it is covered in the Standards of Service, Page 13. This is part of the Indiana Administrative Code.
