I have deck that is very much like picture in OP. 12 foot deck and 2 feet overhang on the roof - been a few times the entire deck is wet after a storm.I sreiously doubt a driving rain would go that far into the deck but you would still need UF at the least. This is an authority having jurisdiction call. I have no issue with the box and fixture but the wire is a violation. The rust on a staple can be from humidity rather than rain

Code said:Location, Damp. Locations protected from weather and not
subject to saturation with water or other liquids but subject to
moderate degrees of moisture. (CMP-1)
Informational Note: Examples of such locations include partially
protected locations under canopies, marquees, roofed open
porches, and like locations, and interior locations subject to
moderate degrees of moisture,...
I don't think it qualifies as "roofed." To me, that means the roof/floor above does NOT allow water to pass through, and the moderate degrees of moisture will be the horizontal and condensing kind.
I agree.
If the fixture was installed on the upper deck below the roof then yes. Damp location.
But,
If installed below the floor joists with the floor decking above having gaps between the boards. Wet Location.

One things for sure Dennis,,, you seem to always put a completely different perspective on things.
In my partying days, I could have rendered the underside of that deck a wet location by simply beaching that pontoon.

Or someone washing rugs- that just popped into my head. Yes I've seen it at my apartment where I lived many years past.
If you were the ground floor resident, that would be the perfect time to repay the favor by power washing your outdoor ceiling joists.
