What are the numbers inside a profibus connector?

I don't know but I'm about to learn as from what I hear both of our big steel mills up here use this type of buss architecture for their control network, I know Arcelor Mittal does, not yet sure if US does.

Gar should know?

Ok a quick search turned up this PDF

Page 29/30 calls it a GSD or (General
Station Description). and this should be the Identification Number?

Ok its kind of a newer 485 Mod buss, with differant protocols oh boy some more learning to do.
Doesn't sound like we're talking about a typical profibus cable connector. They do not have addresses. The device it connects to would.

Now if this "connector" interfaces to another bus or communications protocol, only then could I see it having an address... but a hard-coded one???

Wonder if the OP'er has any more info... manufacturer, model, etc.
