I believe if you post a picture from your computer directly they will come as thumbnails-- not certain but that's my guess.

Your correct, one of the forums upgrades changed that, I use to be able to post photo's without it becoming a thumbnail.

Are you telling me how to upload from a computer? I know how I just don't do it that way. I either use shutterfly or photobucket or link directly from a web page.
