In a hotel, what is this apparatus for? General receptacle circuit.

It is a breaker lock on device. It prevents an inadvertent turn off of the circuit.

Breaker lock-on device so that you cannot turn the CB off. Sometimes used for smoke alarm circuits.

Usually they want the handle painted red for fire alarm circuits in hotels, or is this an extended stay? I think the rules are a little different for transient housing.

Whenever I buy Eaton gear for a project with a fire alarm, then send a breaker from the factory with a red handle. I think they’re the only manufacturer that does it right now.

The lock was added by my FA sub, but you can see the red factory handle.

Indeed it will, was seeing if it could go in the off position, and accidentally hit the test button.... Nosey me.

The wire colors are crossed up.
