CEO

CEO is the best I could come up with, as I am the Owner, President, Officer, Staff, and Sr. Technician. :)

The company name comes from my first go-around, when I was building low power FM transmitters for motocross race announcing. It means:

Tony's Professional Audio TRANSmitter COMpany. :)

not picking on you so please dont take this wrong, I am merely pointing out my observation:

LLCs dont have a CEO, so by putting CEO as your title for an LLC it appears very unprofessional, borderline scammy.

I'll second that.

My card

My card

Here is a .pdf export to a .jpeg... does not look nearly as good as the cards do.

I spent a lot of time with my card. We had a lot of suggestions from people. I think the most suggestions we get are: Turn the card sideways!

Otherwise, everyone else thinks the cards are great. The lightning in the background is what people like.

Mental note: If you have a website, put your website's e-mail address.
When people see myname @yahoo or @msn or @gmail or @aol or whatever... it makes you look less professional. It really looks bad when you have johnq23587 @whatever

The best title ever

The best title ever

I will tell you, that the best title I ever saw was from a GC superintendent:

Adult Daycare Provider

The card's backside had neat things like: We hold your hand to effectively help you through your project... I'll try to find it and scan it. It was the best card I ever saw!

I think the business card should reflect your professionalism. It's not the place for jokes. And I think Owner is better than President or some such title. The customers don't react favorable to inflated ego's and self aggrandizement. If you meet the president, or the manager of a fairly large company do you think he will feel favorable toward you if the card inflates your position/company, in his opinion. Remember, you are not a comedy club, you are an electrical business. Stick to facts, and the expertise you have to sell.

It all depends on what your business entity is.

If you are a sole proprietor, than "owner" is appropriate.

If you are incorporated, then "President" is a better choice, providing you are the actual president of your company.

I used to be "owner" when I was a sole proprietor. 20 years ago, I changed to an S-corp, so that made me President.

Like was said in an earlier post. If you put the word owner on your card some people will think that they have a little more bargaining power. After reading that the next batch I order will say senior project manager or lead technician.

My card says "Project Manager" as I currently work for a company. When I had my own shop my card read "Chief Electrician"
