This may not be the best place for it,

I can't get any current results returned from the search function.

:(

Re: What's wrong with the search function?

I just ran a quick test, and it worked for me. What is it giving you?

Re: What's wrong with the search function?

I've been searching Physis 2 and get only old stuff.

I searched my alias member number and it says I either don't exist or have no current posts.

Edit: Ok, I just did the member number and got good results.

Sam, the problem is you're using the search function on Halloween. It will probably work tomorrow.

Re: What's wrong with the search function?

Sam:

Make sure you type "Physis" and not "Physics" :D

If thats not the problem, maybe the search function looked at your occupation, and decided you knew the results anyway!!

I see the problem now.

The search function looks for words in the title only, or in the body of the message. It is your choice. But the search function does not search for member name. So if you tried to find "Physis 2," you would get no "hits" unless someone mentioned that member name in the body of the message.

The search function can look for posts by selecting the member's id number. As you can see on the left, for example, mine is "27." So if you look for your own member number, you should find all of your recent posts.

Re: What's wrong with the search function?

These new guys with only 75 posts can't ever get it right. Don't worry Sam 2, once you get to know the forum better things will go better for you, like it was for Sam 1. :p

Re: What's wrong with the search function?

I guess I'll try to go through a Charlie a Ryan.

Oh by the way when you get to that page save it in your favorites so you can find it next time  Then you can copy it to your desk top so it will be even easier to find.
